YESHUA MSHEEHA

(Jesus the Christ)

y

For me the hero of all heroes is my Lord and Saviour Yeshua Msheeha (the original Aramaic from which ‘Jesus the Christ’ derives). Without a doubt, no other individual has exercised more influence on me than He. With each passing day, I become more and more aware that I owe everything, absolutely everything, to Him. Truly, like the two disciples on the road to Emmaus that first Easter day, my heart has come to “burn within me.” I long to be ever more completely His and my deepest prayer, a prayer that seems to arise spontaneously from the very core of my being, is “Yeshua consume me.” I know well, however, that my passion for Him pales in comparison with His passion for me. And it is His incomprehensibly passionate love for me that gives meaning, direction, and purpose to my life. Encountering that awesome love made flesh each day in the “breaking of the bread” is what gives me the strength and courage to continue the task to which I have been called - proclaiming the Good News.

In the past several years, I have been lead to deepen my knowledge of the person of Yeshua through extensive reading of works exploring the Gospels and the question of the “Historical Jesus.” As a result, Yeshua is becoming less a theological concept and more a true person with whom I am called into a deeper and deeper relationship. Entering fully, no holds barred, into that relationship is the most exciting thing imaginable; it is truly the adventure of a lifetime. An eternal lifetime. And it is an adventure that I do not want to miss.
